A”Amber Caught Anthony and Shayla Sharing a Romantic Moment.

Amber had been feeling suspicious for weeks. Anthony had been acting different — staying out late, hiding his phone, and smiling at messages he refused to explain. Every time Amber asked, he brushed it off.
“Why are you acting so paranoid?” Anthony would say. “You’re imagining things.”
But deep down, Amber knew something wasn’t right.
That evening, Anthony told Amber he had to work late at the office. He kissed her forehead and walked out the door like everything was normal.
But something felt off.
An hour later, Amber noticed Anthony had forgotten his wallet on the kitchen counter. Thinking she’d surprise him, she drove to his office.
When she arrived, the building was almost empty.
The receptionist looked confused.
“Anthony? He left over an hour ago.”
Amber’s heart dropped.
If he wasn’t at work… where was he?
Her hands shook as she called him. No answer.
Then she remembered.
Shayla.
Anthony had mentioned Shayla a lot lately — his “friend” from work. Too much.
Amber drove straight to Shayla’s apartment, her chest tightening with every second.
When she reached the door, she noticed it wasn’t fully closed.
And then she heard it.
Laughter.
Soft whispers.
Amber slowly pushed the door open.
There they were.
Anthony and Shayla sitting close together on the couch. Anthony’s hand gently brushed Shayla’s face as they stared into each other’s eyes.
Then Anthony leaned in…
And kissed her.
Amber froze.
Her world shattered in silence.
Then—
“WOW.”
Her voice cut through the room like thunder.
Anthony and Shayla jumped apart.
Amber stepped inside, tears burning her eyes.
“So this is your ‘late meeting’?”
Anthony’s face turned pale.
“Amber, wait—it’s not what it looks like—”
“NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE?!” Amber screamed.
Shayla stood up nervously.
“Amber, please let us explain—”
“Explain what? How long you’ve both been lying to me?!”
Anthony stepped forward.
“Amber, I never meant for this to happen—”
Amber laughed bitterly.
“That’s the problem, Anthony. You never mean anything… until it happens.”
Shayla looked down, ashamed.
Amber turned to her.
“You smiled in my face. You called yourself my friend.”
“Amber, I’m sorry…” Shayla whispered.
Amber shook her head.
“No. You’re sorry you got caught.”
Anthony reached for Amber’s hand, but she pulled away.
“Don’t touch me.”
Tears streamed down Anthony’s face.
“I still care about you.”
Amber stared at him coldly.
“If you cared, you wouldn’t have destroyed us.”
The room fell silent.
Amber took off the ring Anthony had given her and dropped it onto the floor.
The sound echoed like the final crack of a broken heart.
“We’re done.”
Anthony’s eyes widened.
“Amber please—”
But she was already walking away.
As the door slammed shut, Anthony collapsed to his knees.
Shayla stood frozen, realizing the damage they had caused.
Outside, Amber cried as she walked to her car.
Her heart was broken…
But for the first time in months, she felt free.
