The room was already tense before anything even happened.
Larry paced back and forth, running his hands through his hair.
“I’m telling you, Isaiah, you don’t understand what you’re messing with.”
Isaiah leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed, a faint smirk on his face.
“Or maybe I understand it better than you ever did.”
Larry stopped. Dead still. His jaw tightened.
“Don’t do that. Don’t act like you know everything.”
Isaiah shrugged.
“Someone has to. You’ve been spiraling for weeks.”
“Spiraling?!” Larry snapped, his voice rising. “You call this spiraling? I’ve been fixing your mistakes!”
Isaiah pushed off the wall now, stepping closer.
“My mistakes? No, Larry. These are your consequences.”
The air shifted instantly.
Larry’s breathing got heavier. His fists clenched.
“You really wanna go there right now?”
Isaiah didn’t back down.
“I’ve been waiting for you to go there.”
Larry suddenly slammed his hand against the table.
“YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME?!”
Isaiah flinched slightly—but recovered fast.
“No. I think this is the truth catching up to you.”
Larry lost it.
He shoved a chair aside, it scraped loudly across the floor.

Sharra walked in first, eyes wide.

Right behind her, Brooke rushed in, scanning the room.
“Why are you yelling? We could hear you from outside!”

“You shouldn’t be here.”
Sharra frowned.
“Clearly we should be here.”
Isaiah let out a dry laugh.
“Perfect timing.”
Brooke looked between them.
“Someone want to explain? Because this looks like it’s about to get worse.”
Larry pointed at Isaiah.
“He’s been lying. To all of you.”
Isaiah scoffed.
“Oh, we’re doing that now?”
Sharra stepped closer.
“Larry… what is he talking about?”
Larry hesitated.
That hesitation said everything.
Brooke’s expression changed.
“…Larry?”
Isaiah tilted his head.
“Yeah. Larry. Go ahead. Tell them.”
Larry shook his head.
“No. Not like this.”
“Then when?” Isaiah fired back. “After everything falls apart?”
Sharra’s voice softened—but it cut deeper.
“Larry… what aren’t you telling us?”
Larry looked at her… then at Brooke… then back at Isaiah.
His control slipped again—but this time, it wasn’t anger.
It was fear.
“You don’t get it,” Larry said quietly. “I was trying to protect you.”
Brooke crossed her arms.
“Protect us from what?”
Isaiah answered before Larry could.
“From the truth.”
Silence.
Heavy. Thick. Uncomfortable.
Sharra whispered,
“What truth…?”
Larry closed his eyes for a moment. Like he was deciding whether to jump off a cliff.
Isaiah stepped forward one last time.
“Tell them,” he said.
Larry opened his eyes.
And everything changed.
“…It started the night we thought it was over.”
Brooke’s face went pale.
“What do you mean we thought?”
Larry swallowed hard.
“Because it never actually ended.”
Sharra shook her head slowly.
“No… no, you’re not making sense.”
Isaiah folded his arms again.
“He is. He’s just finally being honest.”
Larry looked straight at them.
“They’re coming back.”
The room went completely still.
Brooke whispered,
“Who…?”
Larry didn’t answer right away.
But when he did—
None of them were ready for it.
Larry’s voice dropped, calm but intense.
“Listen to me. No matter what happens—stay together.”
Isaiah moved toward the window, peeking through the blinds.
His expression changed instantly.

A beam of light cut through the darkness from outside.

“Inside. Now.”

Larry looked at them—really looked at them—like it might be the last time.
